A private ecological reserve and research center, Reserva Amazonica is located on the bank of the Madre de Dios River, 45 minutes by boat from Puerto Maldonado. The Lodge has 41 spacious thatched-roof bungalows, each with private bath and terrace with hammocks, built in the traditional style of the indigenous Machiguenga and Ese-Eja people.
